QBCC Photo ID licence card

The QBCC has partnered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) to include QBCC licences on the Queensland Government Digital Licence App. This collaboration is designed to give licensees increased anti-fraud protections through photo identification, and will work much like a digital Queensland driver's licence.

In preparation for this, QBCC Act licence application forms have undergone a comprehensive review, using industry feedback and insights, and the requirement to collect applicant photos has been added to support new photo-ID licence cards.

QBCC’s redesigned QBCC Act licence application form are now available via our service centres and to download from our website.

If you had already started an application prior to 27 August, the QBCC will accept the old version of the form up until 22 October 2024. However, you will likely need to provide 2 certified passport sized photos to support your application.

Current licensees are not required to provide photos at this time.

The QBCC is considering how to deliver these photo requirements to existing licensees in the most cost-effective way, while minimising disruption.

Issuing photo licence cards for new licence applications will inform the process for larger scale delivery to all licensees, and further information will be provided in the coming weeks.
