The existing myQBCC portal will transition to a new, modernised platform called the QBCC Portal, designed to provide a simpler look and feel.
What’s changing
The updated portal introduces:
- a cleaner, more intuitive design
- improved navigation and usability
- alignment with Queensland Government digital and accessibility standards
- a better overall online experience for customers and industry
Alongside the refreshed portal, the QBCC will launch its first fully digital application process—for Owner-builder Permits—making it quicker and easier to apply for a permit and track the progress of the application.
What’s staying the same
While the look and feel of the portal is changing, there will be no changes to:
- licensing requirements
- regulatory processes
- existing services
- customer or licensee accounts.
Users will continue to access services using their current login details, ensuring a smooth transition.
Why start with Owner-builder permits
Owner-builder permits are among the QBCC’s highest-volume application types, accounting for a significant share of applications received.
They are also less complex than many trade licence applications, making them the ideal starting point to introduce end-to-end digital services.
What’s next
The Owner-builder Permit application is the first step in a broader digital transformation program.
Additional services, including more complex licensing applications, will progressively move online in future phases.
