Report reveals disciplinary action against building contractors

8 December 2014

A new, free online report lists the disciplinary action taken against building industry contractors, including the number of licence cancellations and suspensions, and demerit points issued.

The Queensland Building and Construction Commission’s (QBCC) ‘Licensee Disciplinary Action Report’ outlines the disciplinary action taken against licensees on a weekly basis.

QBCC Commissioner, Steve Griffin, said the report was proof of the QBCC’s proactive role in enforcing compliance and ensuring appropriate standards are upheld in the industry.

“It clearly shows the effectiveness of the Commission’s regulation of the industry and dispels any suggestion that the QBCC is not actively enforcing disciplinary action wherever and whenever it is required.

“The report provides useful information for anyone dealing with a licensee, including home owners, contractors and anyone interested in QBCC regulatory activities,” Mr Griffin said.
